You can pull the wand off its magnetic connection at any time. That’s by design: it protects the lever the wand attaches to from being bent.
Reconnecting is as easy as it looks. Bring the two ends close together and the magnets snap them back into place. They’re strong, but a firm pull will always release the wand.
