The FAQ of Window Blinds

As the window treatment experts in Ontario, we field a lot of questions about Hunter Douglas blinds. Let’s explore some questions we get most often, and if you still have more, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

How do you measure for blinds?

We offer free, professional measurements of the windows in your home for custom blinds, shades, shutters and drapery. Our Hunter Douglas blinds are tailored to fit your windows, so the measurements must be exact to create a custom fit.

While we are measuring, we also can advise you on the mounting options that will work best for your windows, as well the operating systems and types of window coverings that will work best. We pay attention to details, such as door handles, window cranks and layout challenges to ensure your window coverings operate properly.

Do you offer installation?

Yes, we install the window coverings in your home. The installation is done by trained and certified individuals who know the Hunter Douglas products. We take care to install them properly so they work as intended.

Are blinds easy to clean?

Yes, they are quite easy to maintain. Most blinds are crafted from hard materials, such as wood, composite and metal, so they can be dusted regularly. You can also spot clean the blinds with a clean microfiber cloth and a gently cleanser.

Do you offer cordless blinds?

We do. Cordless blinds are the safest type of blinds to install in homes with children and pets. Dangling cords can cause injury, and they are no longer allowed to be sold to consumers. Our window blind collections are cordless, only operated by using the bottom rail to raise and lower the blinds. When it comes to other types of window coverings, you may have options for child-safe cord systems that offer a very short, retractable cord that stays out of reach and reels itself in as it is used.

Can I see window blinds in person?

Yes, you can come to one of our local window treatment showrooms, conveniently located in London and Exeter.
